 "text": "RS 14:84\n\n\u00a784. Pandering\n\nA. Pandering is any of the following intentional acts:\n\n(1) Enticing, placing, persuading, encouraging, or causing the entrance of any person\ninto the practice of prostitution, either by force, threats, promises, or by any other device or\nscheme.\n\n(2) Maintaining a place where prostitution is habitually practiced.\n\n(3) Detaining any person in any place of prostitution by force, threats, promises, or\nby any other device or scheme.\n\n(4) Receiving or accepting by a person as a substantial part of support or\nmaintenance anything of value which is known to be from the earnings of any person\nengaged in prostitution.\n\n(5) Consenting, on the part of any parent or tutor of any person, to the person's\nentrance or detention in the practice of prostitution.\n\n(6) Transporting any person from one place to another for the purpose of promoting\nthe practice of prostitution.\n\nB.(1) Whoever commits the crime of pandering shall be fined not more than five\nthousand dollars, imprisoned with or without hard labor for not more than five years, or both.\n\n(2) Whoever commits the crime of pandering involving the prostitution of persons\nunder the age of eighteen years shall be fined not more than fifty thousand dollars,\nimprisoned at hard labor for not less than fifteen years nor more than fifty years, or both, with\nat least five years being served without benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of\nsentence.\n\n(3) Whoever commits the crime of pandering involving the prostitution of persons\nunder the age of fourteen years shall be fined not more than seventy-five thousand dollars,\nimprisoned at hard labor for not less than twenty-five years nor more than fifty years, or both,\nwith at least ten years being served without benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of\nsentence.\n\n(4) Repealed by Acts 2020, No. 352, \u00a72.\n\nAmended by Acts 1978, No. 219, \u00a71; Acts 1980, No. 708, \u00a71; Acts 2012, No. 446,\n\u00a71; Acts 2013, No. 83, \u00a71; Acts 2014, No. 564, \u00a71; Acts 2017, No. 180, \u00a71, eff.
